Alumni Exhibition Shared Differently (2025)

Alumni Exhibition: Shared Differently

Description:On November 12, 2025, the Communication and Multimedia Design (CMD) Alumni Exhibition took place under the title Shared Differently, featuring a total of seven participants who were part of the Media Institute at Utrecht University of Applied Sciences.

The exhibition was initiated after CMD graduates expressed the view that little attention was being paid to the graduation projects they had worked on for more than a semester. This prompted fellow alumnus Joep van Rijnsoever and myself, to approach the faculty and raise the matter. This led to a small group of faculty members coming together to help support us brining this idea of a final exhibition to life.

To give this idea grounding, we came up with a concept and a design language concept that tied our motive and the exhibition together: From sharing the start of their studies to eventually finding their own paths, CMD students all achieved the final results differently. Hence the title: Shared Differently.

Besides showing our final projects, a secondary goal of the exhibition was to invite and connect alumni with people from within the creative industry. Through collaborating with the organisation Utrecht Creative Community (UCC) we got to be apart of the festivalprogramming of Broed!. This gave us the opportunity to exhibit our work in Utrecht's most prominent creative spaces The Nijverheid and invite professionals from the creative field.
